Free Flu Shots
Free flu shots will be administered on November 9th at the Riverdale YM-YWHA at 5625 Arlington Avenue, and on November 10th at Vladeck Hall at 74 Van Cortlandt Park South.
Both events will be held between 10:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. This service is sponsored by Montefiore Health System, Walgreens Pharmacy, Congressman Eliot Engel, Borough President Rubén Díaz Jr., State Senator Jeff Klein, Assemblymember Jeff Dinowitz, and Councilmember Andrew Cohen. Flu shots will be administered at no cost to constituents, though participants are asked to bring their insurance card.
“I am pleased to partner with Montefiore Health System and Walgreens to offer this important service,” said Assemblymember Dinowitz. “The flu is a serious health matter, and getting a flu shot protects not just yourself but also your friends, family, and neighbors.”
“Flu and pneumonia account for over 400 deaths a year in the Bronx,” said Amanda Parsons, M.D., M.B.A., Vice President of Community and Population Health at Montefiore Health System. “Vaccination is safe, effective, and the best way to prevent getting the flu – yet only half of New Yorkers report getting a flu shot.”
“The US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention recommends that every adult get a flu shot, and annual flu shots from Walgreens are a quick and effective way to protect you and your family from the most common influenza viruses each year,” stated Walgreens District Manager Adrienne Johnson.
Please note that participants must be 18 years of age or older to participate, and cannot be allergic to eggs.

Se proveerán vacunas contra la gripe (Flu) para la comunidad el 9 de noviembre en el YM-YWHA de Riverdale en el 5625 de la avenida Arlington, y el 10 de noviembre en el Vladeck Hall ubicado en el 74 de Van Cortlandt Park South. Ambos eventos serán entre las 10AM y 1PM. Este servicio es patrocinado por el Montefiore Health System, la farmacia Walgreens, el Congresista Eliot Engel, el presidente del condado Rubén Díaz Jr., el senador estatal Jeff Klein, el asambleísta Jeff Dinowitz, y el concejal Andrew Cohen. Las vacunas contra la gripe serán sin costo alguno para las personas, aunque se les pide a los participantes traer su tarjeta de seguro de salud.

Por favor, tenga en cuenta que los participantes deben ser de 18 años de edad o mayores para participar, y no pueden ser alérgicos a los huevos.
