Free Dental, Legal and Mammogram Services
As part of the 2015 Community Engagement Service Day, free health and legal services will be offered on Sat., Aug. 8th.
Mobile vans from the New York Legal Assistance Group, New York University Dental and St. Barnabas Hospital’s Mammogram Services will be parked outside Councilmember Andy King’s District Office at 940 East Gun Hill Road, in the Bronx, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. (rain or shine).
Free legal assistance will be offered on family law issues, including domestic violence, orders of protection, divorces, child custody/visitation and child and spousal support; housing issues, such as eviction prevention, landlord disputes, unsafe housing conditions; and public benefits, including Social Security disability insurance, food stamps and public assistance.
The NYU Dental Van services include exams, X-rays, cleanings, fillings and tooth extractions.
The SBH Mobile Mammography Van provides free mammogram screening for women without health insurance coverage.
All vehicles are equipped with private meeting rooms and computers that allow it to operate as full-service offices.
Also in attendance will be the FDNY CPR van, OTC Mobile Stores van, Metro Plus, Rite Aid, the Bronx Community Health Network, Asphalt Green, HealthFirst and many others.

Como parte del Día de Participación de Servicios Comunitarios, se ofrecerán servicios legales y de salud gratuitos, el sábado 8 de agosto.
Las unidades móviles del Grupo de Asistencia Legal de Nueva York, el Departamento de Salud Dental de la Universidad de Nueva York (NYU en inglés) y Servicios de Mamografía del Hospital St. Barnabas (SBH), se ubicarán frente a la oficina de distrito del concejal Andy King, en el 940 de East Gun Hill Road, en el Bronx, de 11 a.m. a 4 p.m.
La asistencia legal se ofrecerá sobre temas de ley de familias, incluyendo violencia doméstica, órdenes de protección, divorcios, custodia de hijos/visitas y pensión para hijos y cónyuges; problemas de vivienda como prevención de desalojo, disputas entre propietarios, condiciones inseguras de vivienda y beneficios públicos, incluyendo seguro social por discapacidad, cupones de alimentos y asistencia pública.
Los servicios de la camioneta de NYU incluirán exámenes dentales, radiografías, limpiezas, empastes y extracciones.
La unidad móvil de mamografía del SBH ofrecerá mamografías gratuitas a las mujeres sin cobertura de seguro de salud.
Las camionetas participantes estarán equipadas con salas privadas y computadoras, que les permitirán funcionar como oficinas de servicios completos.
También participarán la camioneta para capacitación CPR del Departamento de Bomberos de la Ciudad, tiendas móviles OTC, Metro Plus, Rite Aid, la Red de Salud Comunitaria del Bronx, Asphalt Green, HealthFirst y muchos más.
