“Transitions” Exhibit Visit the Bronx Museum of the Arts now through February 14th for “Transitions: New Photography from Bangladesh,” presented by the Bangladeshi American Creative. Featuring artists such as Arfun Ahmed, Taslima Akhter, Debashish Chakrabarty, Rasel Chowdhury, among others, these photos navigate the stories of Bangladeshi people, landscapes, and its position in the world in the borough, which is home to a growing generation of new Bangladeshi Americans. Bronx Artist Documentary Project View the work of talented Bronx artists from Jan 5th through March at the galleries at Krasdale Foods as presented by the Bronx Documentary Center. This exhibit, which debuted last year in the Andrew Freedman Home, will run from Jan. 5th through Mar. 31st. Guests will be able to have a look into some of the lives of Bronx artists in their studios as photographed through the lens of Bronx photographers. International Film Festival Celebrate the history of film with the Bronx International Film Festival from Jan. 22 – 31st. The festival, which will hold film screenings at the Lovinger and Studio Theatres at Lehman College Center for the Performing Arts, will showcase emerging artists and to promote the borough’s art. It is produced by the Bronx Stage and Film Company, an artistic resource for creating opportunities for provocative and engaging work. Among the films to be screened are Crossroads, Lost in Transmission, and We Remember. The Lehman College Center for the Performing Arts is located at 250 Bedford Park Boulevard West. Financial Literacy Learn about financial literacy at the Bronx Library Center on Thurs., Jan. 7th at 4 p.m. The sessions aim to teach teens to learn about earning and saving money, as well as focus on topics such as finding a job and making money; setting and achieving financial goals; tracking spending; making a budget; making sense of a pay check and understanding taxes.
