The 3rd Annual Pelham Half Marathon
Residents are invited to take part in the Third Annual Pelham Half Marathon on Sun., Nov. 30th from 8:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. The course starts and finishes at the intersection of Colonial and Stellar Avenues and covers 13.1 miles, all within the boundaries of the 2 square miles that is Pelham. The course is on open roads and will be well-marked with spray chalk and route arrows. Course highlights include: Glover Field, the Hutchinson River, Chester Park, the Sanborn Map Building, and the Highbrook Highline, among other pathways.
All proceeds from the Third Annual Pelham Half will go to the Pelham Civic Association, a local charity that is celebrating its 75th anniversary. The Pelham Civic Association promotes volunteerism, helps Pelham families in need, awards scholarships to Pelham students and organizes community events like the Pelham Olympics for school age children.

Housing Fair
On Wed., Dec. 10th from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., Acacia Network will host a housing fair where brokers, agents and landlords will meet with clients and work together to find affordable housing for their families. There will be a short presentation to explain a new DHS program that comes with major incentives.
All are invited to bring business cards. Light refreshments with be provided. The housing fair will take place in the Community Room at Ketty’s Place I, located at 711 East 140th Street.

My Superhero Roberto Clemente
A new bilingual, family-friendly show celebrates the life and times of Roberto Clemente.
My Superhero Roberto Clemente, written and directed by Manuel Moran at Teatro SEA, draws on the journey of Bobby and his friends as they discover that Roberto Clemente is a superhero, after learning that he was the first Hispanic ever inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame. As a sports star, civil rights advocate, humanitarian, and family man, Clemente defied all odds and triumphed, forging a legacy of motivation and excellence. This bilingual musical play is a tribute to one of the most recognized Latino heroes of all times. My Superhero Roberto Clemente will play at Hostos Community College located at 451 Grand Concourse on Sat., Dec. 6th at 3:00 p.m.

FBHC Christmas Tree Lighting
The Fordham-Bedford Housing Corporation (FBHC) will present its annual Christmas tree lighting at Serviam Gardens, located on 323 East 198th Street on Wed., Dec. 3rd at 5:00 p.m. Members of the Concourse House and Refuge House’s after-school programs and the Academy of Mount Saint Ursula (AMSU) Vocalists will perform Christmas carols for the Northwest Bronx community. Welcome in the holiday season with FBHC and the Bedford Park community with hot chocolate, coffee and pictures.

American Beatboxer
Join 1040 LOUNGE on Wed., Dec. 12th for a screening of American Beatboxer, followed by a Q&A with film producer Richard McKeown and a beatboxing demonstration by the film’s Executive Producer Chesney Snow. Directed by Manauvaskar Kublall, this award-winning documentary chronicles the evolution of beatboxing and highlights the final day of the July 2010 competition to crown the first American Beatboxing Champion. El Tercer Media Maratón Anual Pelham
Los residentes están invitados a tomar parte en el Tercer Maratón Anual ‘Pelham Half’ el domingo, 30 de noviembre de 8:00 a.m. a 11:00 a.m. El curso comienza y termina en la intersección de las Avenidas Colonial y Stellar, y cubre 13.1 millas, todo dentro de los limites de las 2 millas cuadradas que es el Pelham. El maratón ocurrirá en carreteras abiertas y estará bien marcado con tiza en polvo y flechas de la ruta. Atracciones del curso incluyen: Glover Field, El Rio Hutchinson, el Parque Chester, el Edificio Sanborn Map y Highbrook Higline, entre otros caminos.
Todas las ganancias del Tercer Maratón Anual Pelham Half irán a la Asociación Cívica Pelham, una caridad local que está celebrando su 75to aniversario. Feria de Vivienda
El miércoles, 10 de diciembre de 11:00 a.m. a 1:00 p.m., Acacia Network auspiciará una feria de vivienda donde agentes, corredores de bienes raíces y dueños de edificios se reunirán con clientes y trabajarán juntos para encontrar vivienda asequible para sus familias. Mi Super Heroe Roberto Clemente
Un nuevo espectáculo bilingüe, para toda la familia celebra la vida y el tiempo de Roberto Clemente. Mi Súper Héroe Roberto Clemente escrito y dirigido por Manual Moran del Teatro SEA, dibuja el viaje de Bobby y sus amigos mientras descubren que Roberto Clemente es un súper héroe, luego de descubrir que fue el primer hispano en ser incluido en el Salón de la Fama de Pelota.
Como una estrella del deporte, defensor de los derechos civiles, humanitario y hombre de familia, Clemente desafió todas las probabilidades y triunfó, forjando un legado de motivación y excelencia. Esta obra musical bilingüe es un tributo a uno de los héroes latinos más reconocido de todos los tiempos. La Corporación de Vivienda Fordham-Bedford (FBHC, por sus siglas en inglés) presentará su encendido anual del árbol de navidad en los Jardines Serviam, localizados en el 323 Este en la Calle 198, el miércoles, 3 de diciembre a las 5:00 p.m. Miembros de los programas luego del horario escolar de Concourse House y Refuge House, y los Vocalistas de la Academia de Mount Saint Ursula (AMSU) presentarán villancicos de navidad para la comunidad del noroeste del Bronx. La bienvenida a la temporada de fiestas con FBHC y la comunidad del Parque Bedford con chocolate caliente, café y fotos.

Únase a 1040 Lounge el miércoles, 12 de diciembre para una presentación de American Beatboxer, seguido de preguntas y respuestas con el productor de la película, Richard McKeown y una demostración de ‘beatboxing’ por Chesney Snow, director ejecutivo de la película.
