Celebrate eight years of progress at Soundview Park on Wed., Dec. 6th from 5:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. Friends of Soundview Park is hosting its annual meet-and-greet fundraiser, with support from NYC Parks, Partnership for Parks and L&M Development Partners. Super Moon
Get in touch with the ever-expanding universe at Van Cortlandt Park on Sun., Dec. 3rd from 5:00 p.m. – 6:30 p.m. Urban Park Rangers will guide amateur astronomers through a tour of the moon using a reflective telescope. Guests will explore where the six Apollo missions landed on the moon like the Mare Tranquillitatis (Sea of Tranquility) of Apollo 11 and the Apennine Mountains of Apollo 15, among others. Meditation and Forgiveness
Enhance your physical and mental well-being with Upa Yoga at the Mosholu Library on Sat., Dec. 2nd at 2:00 p.m. The practices include invigorating physical postures, breathing methods and meditation to achieve enhanced focus, memory and productivity. The event is intended for guests aged 7 years and older. The library is located at 285 East 205th Street.

500 Years
The Bronx Documentary Center will be hosting a screening and Q-and-A session of the film 500 Years on Mon., Dec. 4th at 7:00 p.m. In 500 Years, the Mayans lead Guatemala to a historical tipping point, from the genocide trial of former dictator General Rios Montt to the citizen’s uprising that toppled President Otto Pérez Molina.
