Hoot and Halloween
Visit the Mosholu branch of the New York Public Library on Fri., Oct. 23rd for an interactive musical program titled “Hoot and Halloween”. The interactive musical introduces performing arts in a creative, hands-on musical approach for kids of all ages. Children become “stars on stage” by assisting in the performance, filled with original songs are specifically created for each theme and age group, as presented by musicians Presley and Melody. The Mosholu Library is located 285 East 205th Street.

The Dalí Quartet
Enjoy the musings of The Dalí Quartet at the Hostos Center for the Arts and Culture on Tues., Oct. 20th at 7 p.m. The Dalí Quartet is a string quartet, composed of three Venezuelan virtuosos — violinists Simón Golo and Carlos Rubio, and violist Adriana Linares – together with cellist Jesús Morales, who hails from one of the most prominent musical families in Puerto Rico. Together, they perform an eclectic program with a classic quartet of Beethoven and a sparkling array of Latin American gems that feature the acclaimed Puerto Rican percussionist Orlando Cotto. CUNY in the Bronx
Learn about some of the Bronx’s extraordinary destinations at the Lehman College Library on Tues., Oct 15th from 5 – 6 p.m. The discussion and book reading will be led by authors Lloyd Ultan, a Bronx historian, and educator Shelley Olson, who teamed up to create a guidebook that provides readers with informative chapters on historical highlights within the borough. Native Plants Garden
Learn about natural landscape design from one of the nation’s most revered specialists, Darrel Morrsion, FASLA, during an immersive native plant field study at the New York Botanical Garden Sun., Oct. 11th through Thurs., Oct. 15th. Participants will have an opportunity to study how native plant communities grow and thrive in the New York City region and how to incorporate this into their own home design work. Hoot and Halloween

Los chicos se vuelven “estrellas en el escenario” que ayudan en el espectáculo, el cual está lleno de canciones originales y creadas específicamente para cada grupo temático y edad, presentas por los músicos Presley y Melody. El Cuarteto Dalí
Disfrute de las reflexiones del Cuarteto Dalí en el Centro Hostos para las Artes y la Cultura el martes 20 de octubre a las 7 pm. El Cuarteto Dalí es uno de cuerdas, compuesto de tres virtuosos venezolanos -los violinistas Simón Golo y Carlos Rubio, y la viola Adriana Linares- junto con el violonchelista Jesús Morales, quien forma parte de una de las más prominentes familias musicales en Puerto Rico. Juntos presentan un programa ecléctico con un cuarteto clásico de Beethoven y una brillante variedad de joyas de América Latina que cuentan con el aclamado percusionista puertorriqueño Orlando Cotto. Jardín de plantas nativas
Aprenda sobre el diseño natural de paisajes con uno de los especialistas más respetados de la nación, Darrel Morrison, FASLA, durante un estudio de inmersión de campo sobre plantas nativas en el Jardín Botánico de Nueva York, del domingo 11 hasta el jueves 15 de octubre. Los participantes tendrán la oportunidad de estudiar cómo crecen y se desarrollan las comunidades de plantas nativas en la región de la ciudad de Nueva York y cómo incorporar esto en su propio diseño casero.
