Kick off the Bronx Documentary Center’s third annual Women’s Film Series on Wed., Oct. 4th at 7:00 p.m. The center will celebrate the first day with a screening of (T)ERROR; the story of a 62-year-old Black Panther-turned counterterrorism informant for the Federal Bureau of Investigation. Explore nature with Urban Park Rangers at Pelham Bay Park on Sat., Sept 30th from 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. Explorers will paddle across the lagoon to explore the salt marsh and the rich biodiversity found within. Enjoy the Puppet Mobile in Virginia Park in collaboration with the public artwork titled Daylighting by Lovie Pignata on Fri., Sept. 29th from 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. Pignata’s public art project activates a blacktop with a bold, painted replica of the nearby Bronx River, highlighting the importance of this waterway. The artist has also installed retired canoes from local non-profits, which are retrofitted with seating, chessboards, planters, and wayfinding signage.
