Starlight Park Tour
Learn about the new and the old at Starlight Park on Sat., Apr. 1st at 11:00 a.m. Since its expansion and reopening in 2010, the park has become a quiet spot for enjoying the beauty of the Bronx River. However, the river and its surrounding environment was not always this way. Join the Bronx River Alliance to discuss the site’s past as a famous amusement park, and look to the future with the opening of the Bronx River House and the development of Starlight 2. The group will meet at 1500 Boone Avenue.

Eel Intentions
Dive deep into the journey of the Hudson River’s electrifying inhabitant on Sun., Apr. 9th at 2:00 p.m. with NYS Department of Environmental Conservation’s science educator Sarah Mount. She will share the journey of the Anguilla rostrate with images, artifacts and live eels. Learn how scientists, students, and community volunteers are working together to gather vital information about local populations by catching, counting and releasing thousands of tiny “glass eels” as they make their way up the Hudson River. Wave Hill is located at 249th Street and Independence Avenue.

Jog the Zoo
Kill calories for a cause at this year’s Wildlife Conservation Society’s (WCS) Run on Sat., Apr. 29th from 7:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. The WCS Run for the Wild is a 5K Run and Family Fun Run/Walk held at the Bronx Zoo in support of WCS’ work to help save wild life and wild places. Documenting Fashion
Experience the new exhibition, “From Mobutu to Beyoncé” on Sat., Apr. 15th from 6:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. Photographer Émilie Régnier explores symbols of power and style in Dakar, Kinshasa, Paris, Abidjan, New York and a small town in Texas. Her photos document the cultural conversation and the ever-present feedback loop between artists, politicians and ordinary citizens in Africa, Europe, and the United States. The Bronx Documentary Center is located at 614 Courtlandt Avenue and 151st Street.

Spirit Spring Cleaning
