Action Tours
Spring for the Bronx Action Tours, sponsored by the Bronx Tourism Council, will return on Apr. 17th. Activities include hiking, biking, and canoeing along the Bronx River, with a focus on eco-adventures available in the area for outdoor enthusiasts. Guests will also have the opportunity to visit the New York Botanical Garden for the Orchid Show. This is a free event.

Swan Lake at Lehman
On Sun., Apr. 12th, the Russian National Ballet Theatre is bringing its rendition of Swan Lake to the Lehman Center for the Performing Arts. Known as one of the world’s great love stories, Swan Lake focuses on the tale of Prince Siegfried and Princess Odette. Stylish choreography and masterful storytelling make Swan Lake a ballet for the entire family. Lehman Center for the Performing Arts is located at 250 Bedford Park Boulevard West.

Cuba Libre!

With the recent announcement of a new re-engagement policy between the United States and Cuba bringing a renewed focus to the island nation, the Bronx Museum will be hosting an exhibit of contemporary Cuban artists. “Cuba Libre!: Works from the Shelley and Donald Rubin Private Collection” will run through Jun. 21st and features a variety of artists and mediums. Selected works include, among others, collaborations between Ricardo G. Elias and José Angel Toirac (from the series Peregrinaje); assemblages by Eduardo Ponjuán; lithographs by Humberto Castro; and works by Tonel, Adonis Flores, Tommas Esson, and more. Admission is free; children 12 and under must be accompanied by an adult. The Bronx Museum of the Arts is located at 1040 Grand Concourse.

Brasil Guitar Duo
The Brasil Guitar Duo, praised by The New York Times for its “warm melodies and pinpoint dance rhythms,” will perform at Wave Hill on Sun., Apr. 12th. Led by Douglas Lora and João Luiz, the duo has been performing for audiences worldwide for nearly 15 years. The ensemble offers a seamless blend of styles, from traditional works to Brazilian popular tunes.

Los recorridos de acción Spring for the Bronx, patrocinados por el Consejo de Turismo del Bronx, regresarán el 17 de abril.
