Beginners’ Guide to Blogging
Interested in starting a blog and sharing your ideas? Take the first step at the Sedgwick Library on Mon., March 6th at 4:00 p.m. The library will host a blogging workshop where guests can ask questions and learn important information about creating and maintaining a blog. Participants can examine existing blogs and create their very own blog for free using WordPress. The workshop is intended for youths and young adults aged 13 – 24 years. The library is located at 1701 Martin Luther King, Jr. Boulevard.

Clean Up the Park
United By Blue is teaming up with The Bronx River Alliance for a cleanup of Concrete Plant park on Sat., Mar. 11th from 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. The historic Bronx River was once a source of fishing and fresh water for the Mohegan Native Americans. Now, due to years of industry and trade, heavy pollution has degraded the waterway. United by Blue will provide all of the clean-up supplies. Cliff Bar will provide volunteers with pre-cleanup snacks during check-in. Volunteers are advised to wear close toed shoes and clothes that can be dirtied. The group will meet at 1372 Westchester Avenue (between Bronx River and Whitlock Avenues).

Winter Workspace
Capture a beautiful memory in encaustic at Wave Hill on Sat., Mar. 4th from 10:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. Encaustic is a Greek word meaning “to heat or burn in.” The method consists of heating the wax, which is composed of natural beeswax, resin and pigment, applying it to an absorbent surface and then reheating it to fuse the paint. Shape Up
Is your body summer ready? Zoom by the Williamsbridge Oval Recreation Center for a Zumba class on Sun., Mar. 5th from 1:30 p.m. – 2:30 p.m. Zumba is an aerobic fitness program made up of movements derived from various styles of Latin American dance. The event is open to dancers and participants of all levels and ages. The recreation center is located at 3225 Reservoir Oval East.

Russian Ballet
Join the Lehman Center as it ushers in the spring semester with Russian ballet on Sun., Mar. 12th at 4:00 p.m. The Soviet National Ballet, comprised of 50 dance professionals helmed by Elena Radchenko, will perform Romeo and Juliet and Carmen, accompanied by music by Tchaikovsky. Limpieza del parque
