The Bronx Council on the Arts (BCA) and the Huntington Free Library (HFL) continue their 2012-2013 family-friendly craft workshop series at 12:30pm on Sat., Mar. 16th at Westchester Square’s Huntington Free Library with Doll Making with Alba García.

García is a master sculptor. Her art creatures are in private collections all over the world and she is a professor of Creature Design at the FANTASIATION Art Studio. She graduated from the University of Puerto Rico achieving a Fine Arts BA Degree. She completed a Stop Motion Film at the School of Visual Arts, NY, achieving the Dusty Film Festival Award.  She was nominated for a Student Academy Award 2001, for her stop-motion animation, The Happy Prince, by Oscar Wilde.

The workshop runs from 12:30-3:00pm. The Huntington Free Library is located at 9 Westchester Square (next to the Apple Savings Bank).

Admission to the workshop is free and it is open to the public.

All are welcome, but space is limited.

Give Kids a Smile Day

In honor of Oral Health Month, Montefiore Medical Center’s Department of Dentistry offered free dental screenings for children ages 2-13 years old.

The screenings were held at North Broadway Dental and Wakefield Dental. Among the services offered were general practice and pediatric dentistry includes fillings, crowns, root canals, dentures, partials and cosmetic dentistry as well as preventative care, which includes cleanings and digital x-rays.

 

New St. Barnabas Mobile Mammography Van
