Manga Workshop
Dive into the world of manga at the Sedgwick Library on Tues., Jan. 24th at 4:00 p.m. Manga is a Japanese style comic that is usually aimed at teens and adults. The workshop will focus on Japanese and American style comics where students learn the history and culture of manga and then adapt it to their own experiences and cultures for their own character. The event is intended for youths aged 13 – 18 years. The library is located at 1701 Martin Luther King, Jr. Boulevard.

Bring your young ones to Wave Hill for an early morning family art project on Sat., Jan. 21st from 10:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. Educate young minds about the local creatures that hibernate this time of year through storytelling, mask making, or creating a dreamy home. Stargazing at Van Cortlandt
See and believe the wonders of the universe at Van Cortlandt Park on Sat., Jan. 28th from 6:00 p.m. – 7:30 p.m. Join Urban Park Rangers as they explore the night sky while they discuss the science, history and folklore of the solar system. Telescopes will be provided by the park rangers. Guests are encouraged to call ahead for weather updates in case of cancellation. Brown Rice Family Concert
The Brown Rice Family band is coming to the Bronx Museum of the Arts on Fri., Feb. 3rd from 6:00 p.m. – 10:00 p.m. The 9-member band combines reggae, hip-hop, Brazilian, Afrobeat, jazz, rock, Latin, and funk for a unique sound. The artists hail from all around the globe and draw from various diverse backgrounds to create a colorful, rhythm-driven, and highly danceable sound. The museum is located at 1040 Grand Concourse.

Fun with Circuits
Mosholu Library is teaming up with RoboFun to bring science education to young children. On Wed., Feb. 15th at 3:30 p.m., join other curious young scientists as they learn about circuits and how they work. Participants will have a chance to create their own LED project like a wristband or bracelet to take home. The event is intended for youths aged 9 and older. The library is located at 285 East 205th Street.
