Join with fellow readers and tea lovers alike at the Bartow-Pell Mansion Museum on Sat., Feb. 17th from 10:00 a.m. – 11:30 a.m. Museum Guides Laura DeRiggi and Caitlyn Sellar will lead a historical fiction book club where literature and tea blend for a savory adventure. February’s book is The Last of the Mohicans by James Fenimore Cooper. Tea and light refreshments will be served. Guests are asked to bring a sweet or savory snack to share with other group members. Speak Up!
The Bronx Coalition of Parks and Green Spaces is celebrating its 24th Annual Speak Up event on Sat., Feb. 24th from 11:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. Have face-to-face discussions with elected and appointed officials to protect parklands and the Bronx River, take part in workshops to contribute to community green spaces and watch presentations on the budget, park improvements, and community health. The event will take place inside the Lehman College Faculty Dining Room inside the music building. Lehman College is located at 250 Bedford Park Boulevard.

Winter Blues
Celebrate the renowned entertainer Josephine Baker at Wave Hill on Sun., Feb. 18th from 10:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. The artist is famous for her activism and for refusing to perform for segregated audiences in the U.S. Make handmade musical instruments and join visiting storyteller Channie Waites, who reinterprets Jazz Age Josephine, by Jonah Winter, through interactive movement and sound. The Shack
The Mosholu Library is screening the movie The Shack on Sat., Feb. 24th at 1:30 p.m. After suffering a family tragedy, Mack Phillips spirals into a deep depression that causes him to question his innermost beliefs. Facing a crisis of faith, he receives a mysterious letter urging him to an abandoned shack in the Oregon wilderness. The film is best suited for youths aged 13 – 18 years. The library is located at 285 East 205th Street.
