The first significant snowfall of the season brought nearly 3 inches of snow to the borough during the first major winter moment of 2017. The storm, which swept through the city on January 7th, also brought strong winds and slick roads. Citywide, the Department of Sanitation reported using 1,000 snow plows and 689 salt-spreaders and in the Bronx, 148 plows and 115 salt-spreaders.
La primera nevada significativa de la temporada trajo casi 3 pulgadas de nieve a la ciudad durante el primer gran momento de invierno de 2017. La tormenta, que se propagó por la ciudad el 7 de enero, también trajo fuertes vientos y carreteras resbaladizas.
