On Thurs., Feb. 16th, Borough President Rubén Díaz Jr. hosted his annual Dominican Heritage celebration, honoring individuals who have contributed to the growth of their community and culture. This year honorees include Hon. Marisol Alcántara, New York State Senator; Luz Tavarez, Director Of Government and Community Relations for Catholic Charities of the Archdiocese of New York; and Ana I. García Reyes, Associate Dean for Community Relations at Hostos Community College.
El jueves 16 de febrero, el presidente del condado, Rubén Díaz Jr., organizó su celebración anual de la Herencia Dominicana, honrando a individuos que han contribuido al crecimiento de su comunidad y cultura. Este año los homenajeados incluyeron a: la Hon. Marisol Alcántara, senadora del Estado de Nueva York; Luz Tavárez, directora de Relaciones Gubernamentales y Comunitarias de Caridades Católicas de la Arquidiócesis de Nueva York; y Ana I. García Reyes, decana ssociada de Relaciones Comunitarias de Hostos Community College.
