Health Plus is joining Amerigroup!

You may have heard the news about Health Plus being acquired by Amerigroup. Amerigroup is another New York health plan that offers similar healthcare products to Health Plus. Here’s what you need to know:

• Since Amerigroup will acquire Health Plus, sometime next year, Health Plus will become part of Amerigroup New York.

• All we’re doing right now is informing you about this. Nothing is changing now. Health Plus is here in your community for you as we have been for the last 25 years.

• You and your children do not need to re-enroll or recertify based on this announcement. You are still covered and your recertification date remains the same.

• Your family’s benefits have not changed, and you can still use the same doctors and hospitals. Approvals and referrals are still valid.

Health Plus and Amerigroup are excited to give you the best of both health plans by coming together. But nothing is changing right now. We want to make sure you understand what is going on, so what follows are some answers to questions you may have.

We have also set up a special toll-free number you can call with questions: 1-855-287-5200 where our Member Service Representatives will be available to speak with you Monday through Friday, from 8 a.m. until 8 p.m., and Saturday, 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
