There might not have been a Santa Claus, but there was no shortage of gifts.
Stellar photographer Catherine Fonseca, a frequent contributor to The Bronx Free Press, was recently honored with a proclamation for her tireless efforts in photographing the residents and landscapes of the borough.
Fonseca and her work were recognized this past Sat., Jul. 20th at the 6th Annual “Unity Day” Community Block Party by the Office of City Councilmember Joel Rivera, as represented by Chief of Staff Albert Álvarez, together with Annette C. De Jesus, Twin Park Kids Inc. Founder.
The day’s theme was Christmas in July, and children received free toys from multiple organizations and books from Fordham Road Business Improvement District (BID), while families enjoyed presentations from the Ultimate Studios Mixed Martial Arts School.
The proclamation read, “Her pictures educate, motivate, inspire and stir the viewer’s emotion as if they had been there and capture the attention and earned herself the respect and admiration of the Bronx Community by capturing and sharing the images that tell of life in the Bronx. She has demonstrated untiring, devoted and never-ending commitment to the community she cares for.”

Tal vez no hubo un Santa Claus, pero no hubo escasez de regalos.
La fotógrafa estelar Catherine Fonseca, colaboradora habitual de The Bronx Free Press, fue galardonada recientemente con una proclama por sus incansables esfuerzos en fotografiar a los residentes y los paisajes de condado.
Fonseca y su trabajo fueron reconocidos el pasado sábado 20 de julio en el 6° Anual “Unity Day” Community Block Party de la oficina del concejal Joel Rivera, representado por el jefe de staff Alberto Álvarez, junto con Annette C. de Jesús, fundadora de Twin Park Kids, Inc.
El tema del día fue la navidad en julio, y los niños recibieron juguetes gratis de múltiples organizaciones y libros de Fordham Road Business Improvement District (BID por sus siglas en inglés), mientras que las familias disfrutaron de las presentaciones de Ultimate Studios Mixed Martial Arts School.
La proclamación decía: “Sus fotografías educan, motivan, inspiran y agitan las emociones del espectador, como si hubiera estado allí, captan su atención y se ganó el respeto y admiración de la Comunidad del Bronx por capturar y compartir las imágenes que relatan la vida en el Bronx. Ella ha demostrado incansable, dedicado e interminable compromiso con la comunidad que cuida”.
