The Bronx Youth Empowerment Program (YEP) attended the 43rd Annual NYS Black, Puerto Rican, Hispanic and Asian Legislative Caucus held in Albany this past weekend with 12th District Councilmember Andy King, who co-chairs the City Council’s Black Latino Asian Caucus.

The theme for this year’s conference, hosted from February 14th through the 16th, was “Reclaiming our Sons and Daughters”.

The Bronx YEP hosted its 3rd Annual Youth Reception. The group attended seminars, a scholarship luncheon, toured the Capitol building and conducted interviews with state and city legislators.

During an awards ceremony, Bronx YEP’s Brittanya Burchell received the Youth Service Award for her commitment to education and as a role model to her generation.

El Programa de Empoderamiento Juvenil del Bronx (YEP) asistió al 43° Caucus Legislativo Anual de negros, puertorriqueños, hispanos y asiáticos de NYS celebrado en Albany este fin de semana pasado con el concejal del Distrito 12 Andy King, quien copreside el Caucus negro latino asiático de la ciudad.

El tema de la conferencia de este año, llevada a cabo del 14 de febrero hasta el 16, fue “la reivindicación de nuestros hijos e hijas”.

El YEP del Bronx celebró su tercera recepción anual de la juventud. El grupo asistió a seminarios, un almuerzo de becarios, recorrió el edificio del Capitolio y llevó a cabo entrevistas con legisladores estatales y de la ciudad.

Durante la ceremonia de premiación, Brittanya Burchell de YEP del Bronx recibió el Premio al Servicio Juvenil por su compromiso con la educación y como un modelo a seguir para su generación.
