Free Legionnaires Screenings and Treatment
Don’t delay; get tested.
That is the message from Senator Jeff Klein and Assemblymember Mark Gjonaj, who have announced a partnership with ProHealth Urgent Care in Morris Park for free Legionnaires’ disease evaluations and treatment for seniors and uninsured residents.
“Legionnaires’ disease is completely treatable with antibiotics and I do not want any resident of Morris Park who is elderly or uninsured to avoid seeking health care if they believe they might have Legionnaires’ symptoms,” said Sen. Klein. “Our partnership with ProHealth Urgent Care will ensure that everyone can receive the treatment they need for free. I applaud the doctors at this community clinic for working with elected officials and caring for its neighbors during this time.”
“Morris Park residents should not panic, but if they have any of the symptoms of Legionnaires’ disease and don’t have insurance or are elderly they have a place to go for medical care,” added Assemblymember Gjonaj. “Please do not wait to seek medical help. ProHealth Urgent Care is showing it’s a real part of this community by offering free evaluations and treatment of Legionnaires’ disease to the uninsured and our seniors.”
ProHealth Urgent Care, located at 1049 Morris Park Avenue (between Paulding and Hone Avenues) will offer free evaluations and treatment until Sunday, October 11. Senior citizens and uninsured residents who live within the 10461 or 10462 zip codes can walk in if they experience Legionnaires’ disease symptoms. Co-pays will be waived.

“La enfermedad ‘legionnaires’ es completamente tratable con antibióticos y no deseo que ningún residente de Morris Park que sea envejeciente o sin seguro médico evite buscar ayuda de salud si piensan que puedan tener síntomas de ‘legionnaire’”, dijo el Senador Klein. “Nuestra asociación con ‘ProHealth Urgent Care’ asegurara que todo el mundo pueda recibir el tratamiento que necesita de gratis. Aplaudo a los doctores en esta clínica de la comunidad por trabajar con oficiales electos y preocuparse por sus vecinos durante este tiempo”.

‘ProHealth Urgent Care’, localizado en el 1049 en la Avenida Morris Park (entre las avenidas Paulding y Hone), ofrecerá evaluaciones y tratamiento gratis hasta el domingo, 11 de octubre. Envejecientes y residentes sin seguro médico que vivan en los códigos postales 10461 o 10462 pueden ir si experimentan síntomas de la enfermedad ‘legionnaire’.
No se pagará copagos.
