Boost to the Bronx by Sprint

Get ready for high-speed phone service.
This past Wed., Jul. 24th, Sprint announced that its new 4G LTE network and improved 3G service will be available in the Bronx starting July 30th.
The event, hosted at 900 Park in Morris Park, gathered Sprint representatives, local Bronx businesses and residents of the community of the update in service quality.
“We’re launching our 4G LTE network in the Bronx,” said a beaming Karen Paletta, Regional Vice President of Sprint. “What that actually means is faster data speeds, clearer voice quality, and more reliable network connectivity.”
The upgrade in service aims not only to improve the speeds of those with 4G LTE devices, but to improve the quality of service of all Sprint customers in the Bronx.
“If you’re a Sprint customer, bottom line is, especially in the Bronx, your service is going to get better starting July 30th,” explained Walter Fowler, Media Relations Manager for Sprint.
Also announced was the news that Sprint, in conjunction with Transit Wireless, which owns and operates subway wireless communications network, had finalized a contract to bring Sprint’s wireless voice and data service into all 277 underground subway stations starting in early 2014.
Attendees of the event greeted the news with enthusiasm.
“The Bronx is such a vibrant place, and has seen tremendous growth with amazing people,” said Michael Knobbe, Executive Director of BronxNet. “I’m happy to see that there is a commitment to building infrastructure here.”
“We applaud Sprint for offering a service that will make technology and information more accessible to Bronxites,” added Marques Payne, of the Bronx Chamber of Commerce. “The ability to make information more accessible is a great thing and we appreciate organizations that make the Bronx as a priority.”
For those who expressed concerned that an upgrade in service would mean higher prices, organizers said there was no need to worry.
“There is no impact to customers at all [financially],” emphasized Paletta. “There’s no price change and they will just naturally see an upgrade in their communication.”

Prepárense para la alta velocidad de servicios telefónicos para los residentes del Bronx!
El pasado miércoles 24 de julio, Sprint anunció que su nueva red 4G LTE y un servicio mejorado de 3G estarán disponibles en el Bronx a partir del 30 de julio.
El evento, organizado en el 900 de Park en Morris Park, reunió a representantes de Sprint, empresas locales del Bronx y residentes de la comunidad a la actualización en la calidad del servicio.
“Hoy lo que anunciamos es que estamos lanzando nuestra red 4G LTE en el Bronx”, dijo Karen Paletta, vice presidente regional de Sprint. “Lo que esto significa en realidad es una mayor velocidad de datos, claridad en la calidad de voz y una conectividad de red más confiable”.
La mejora en el servicio tiene como objetivo no sólo mejorar las velocidades de las personas con dispositivos 4G LTE, sino mejorar la calidad del servicio de todos los clientes de Sprint en el Bronx.
“Si usted es un cliente de Sprint, la conclusión es que especialmente en el Bronx y Brooklyn, el servicio va a mejorar a partir del 30 de julio”, explicó Walter Fowler, director de relaciones con los medios de Sprint.
Otro anuncio que hizo fue que Sprint, junto con Transit Wireless, propietaria y operadora de la red de comunicaciones inalámbrica de las estaciones del metro, había finalizado un contrato para llevar los servicios de voz y datos a las 277 estaciones subterráneas del metro a partir de principios de 2014.
Los asistentes al evento parecían igualmente encantados con los anuncios y lo que significan para la comunidad del Bronx.
“El Bronx es un lugar vibrante y ha experimentado un tremendo crecimiento con gente increíble”, dijo Michael Knobbe, director ejecutivo de BronxNet. “Estoy feliz de ver que hay un compromiso con la construcción de infraestructura aquí”.
“Aplaudimos a Sprint por ofrecer un servicio que hará la tecnología y la información más asequibles a los residentes del condado”, añadió Marques Payne, de la Cámara de Comercio del Bronx. “Apreciamos las organizaciones que tratan al Bronx como una prioridad.”
Para los que expresaron preocupación por que una actualización en el servicio signifique precios más altos, no hay necesidad de preocuparse.
“No hay impacto para los clientes”, subrayó la señorita Paletta. “No hay ningún cambio en el precio y simplemente se verá naturalmente una mejora en la comunicación”.
